What happens when you need to rent a moving truck or van just to move stuff out of your house? Well, you certainly can rent a local moving truck or cargo van for things of that nature. Here are three other uses for local moving truck rentals, plus some related local-mover services that you may find helpful and useful.

Hauling Scrap Metal to a Recycling Yard

If you have a small batch of scrap metal lying around and you do not own a truck, you can rent a moving truck for that. Just load the scrap metal in the back of the small truck or van, take it to the scrap metal yard, have them weigh the metal, and get paid. Then you can return the truck or van rental. If some of the pieces of metal are exceedingly heavy, you could also hire one or two movers to help you load it into the vehicle.

Hauling Items to a Local Storage Unit

It is a known fact that people collect stuff. Not everyone collects the same stuff, but everyone collects stuff. They also tend to collect a lot of stuff, and then they have nowhere to put it. So, then they rent a storage unit for their excess stuff. If this sounds like you (and it very likely describes you well), then you regularly need to put more stuff in storage.

Renting a small moving truck or van helps with these kinds of projects. If you find that you need even more storage space, ask the moving company about renting one of their storage units. Better still, rent the storage unit and have the movers who work for that company load and unload all of your stuff from the truck into the company storage unit. The only thing you would have to do in this process is pack.

Finishing Your Deliveries

People who work as delivery employees occasionally find themselves in a bind. Couriers also get stuck. The problem they encounter is a broken-down delivery van. If you work as a courier or delivery person, and you are at the end of your day when your van breaks down, call a moving-truck rental company. They may even drive a van to your location, help transfer your remaining deliveries into their van, and have you sign the rental agreement right there, and then all you have to do is drop the moving company employee back at the shop.
